Adult Volunteers

As with every Scout Group in the UK, volunteers are the lifeblood of the 28th Hammersmith and the programme of activities it offers. We simply couldn’t do it without our volunteers.

There are lots of brilliant reason for volunteering, including:

  • Try something new
  • Make friends
  • Spend time with their children if they are in the group – or gain experience with young people
  • Do something good for their community and themselves
  • Keep their bodies and brains active and happy – whether that’s by scaling mountains, sharing skills, or serving tea!

Volunteers come in all shapes, sizes, ages and backgrounds. Some are parents who have children in the group and others are former scouts who want to give back to scouting what they got as a young person. Some have neither connection and are just keen to volunteer.

There are a wide range of roles for adults, from Chief Tea maker to running a section! There is something for everyone and we will fit in with the time you have available.
